SACRED MUSIC

Join together in song, under the talented

WOMEN’S GUILD

The St. Rose women's Guild is made up of over
100 women. The group meets on the second
Wednesday of the month from Sept.-Dec., and
Feb.-June at 6:30 pm in the Lower Church. A
variety of projects are presented throughout the
year dedicated to the spiritual and financial support
of the parish and to works of charity in the greater
community. All women of St. Rose over the age of
18 are welcome.

PRO-LIFE ROSARY

Spiritual and supportive activities are held
at various times during the year in association
with the Pro-Life movement.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATIONS

The Blessed Sacrament is exposed on the first
Saturday of each month September through April
from the conclusion of the 8:30 am Mass until 4:00
pm in the Chapel. All are welcomed to come and
spend some time in personal prayer.

FINANCE COUNCIL
The Council advises the pastor on financial matters
of the parish. Members monitor in come and
expenses and approve the annual budget.

Persons who assist in the counting and recording
of parish Offertory collections...Counters volunteer
once per month.

PARISH COUNCIL
The Council advises the Pastor on Pastoral
programs and issues affecting the parish. All
members of the parish are welcomed to participate.

ADULT ALTAR SERVERS

Men and women assisting the priest during the
celebration of Sunday Mass and for other special
occasions.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS
Held Friday evenings at 6:30 pm in the Chapel
during Lent followed by soup and sharing in the
Sacred Heart Hall.

USHER

Volunteers ushers assist people to their seats at
Mass as necessary and pass the basket for the
Offertory collection. Most Ushers work at one
Mass per weekend as their schedule allows.

EVANGELIZATION COMMITTEE

The mission of the evangelization Committee is to
foster and support among the parishioners of St.
Rose a renewed climate of understanding, living,
and sharing of our Catholic Faith.

YOUTH GOUP

Under the direction of a graduate student in
Theology Youth Group is growing in exciting
ways. Open to any young parishioner over the
age of ten, the bilingual group meets on Sundays
following the 12:30 Mass. They gather in the
Church and meet or work at a variety of locations
depending on their project. They are dedicated to
enhancing their faith and serving the community.

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRIES

Formed by the Women’s Guild, this group
provides knit or crocheted shawls to those in need
of comfort and prayers due to illness, loss, or for
other reasons. The group is open to all, and meets
on the 1st Wednesday of the month from 1:00 pm
to 3:00 pm in the lower Church. Lessons are
available.

SACRISTAN

Duties include preparing the altar for Mass and
cleaning the altar following Mass.

SOUP KITCHEN MINISTRIES
Volunteers from St. Rose parish provide hot meals
once a week during the lunch hour to the poor and
homeless at the Meriden Soup Kitchen. This
Ministry takes place each Monday from 7:30 am to
1:00 pm. New volunteers are very welcomed and
needed.

Parish volunteers who warmly welcome
parishioners as they enter the Church for Mass.

SPANISH CHOIR

Two Groups provide music for our Spanish
Masses, one for the 9:00 am Mass and another for
the 12:30 pm Mass. The 9:00 am Choir
Rehearses on Tuesday evenings, and the 12:30 pm
Choir rehearses on Friday evenings.

TUESDAY NIGHT PRAYER GROUP

Every Tuesday a group of parishioners meet in the
lower Church for an evening of prayer, praise and
reflection from 7:30 to 8:30 pm. This prayer Group
is conducted in English. All are welcome at any
time to join for one or any evenings.

YOUTH ALTER SERVERS
Boys and girls in grade 4 and above assisting the
priest during the liturgy.

RCIA
Rite of Christian Initiation is the preparation of
adult candidates for the Catholic Sacraments of
Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Communion.

BABY BAPTISMAL MINISTRY
Prior to scheduling a Baptism parents attend a
class that is held on the second Saturday of each
month in the Church School from 1:00-3:00 pm.

Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist serve the
Body and Blood of Christ at Mass as well as to the
sick and homebound.

HOLY NAME MEN’S GROUP

The St. Rose Holy Name Society is a group of
dedicated men from our Spanish Community.
They meet on the second Sunday of each month in
the lower level of the Community Center
following the 9:00 am Mass. The men plan and
carry out many volunteer services projects within
the parish, seeking to help wherever help is
needed.

FELLOWSHIP AND VISITATION
COMMITTEE

Members of the Spanish community call and/or
visit those in need of company, comfort,
assistance, or a welcome to the parish! This group
is just reforming and could easily become
bilingual. Call if you would be interested.

FLOWERS AND GROUNDS

Volunteers assist the Pastor and Plant Manager in
beautifying the grounds around the parish
property.

These men and women assist in the liturgy by
proclaiming the Scriptures at Mass and other

LITURGICAL LINEN SERVICE

Volunteers care for the various linens used in Mass
and Sacramental Services.

LEGION OF MARY

This Spanish group meets every Monday at
7:00 pm in the Lower Church to say the Rosary.
They also visit the sick and those in Convalescent
Homes, and go out to pray the Rosary with
families following a death.

JUAN XXIII

This group is part of an international organization
that reaches out to those struggling with crises of
faith and other issues. Members participate in
retreats and attend classes. Our group meets on
Wednesday evenings after the 7:00 pm Mass and is
open to Spanish-speaking parishioners over the age
of 18 who successfully complete an application
process.

CURSILLISTAS

Lay People attend a weekend of spiritual activities
called Cursillo and continue meeting following
that weekend to give each other ongoing support in
living their faith.

CHARISMATICS

The Purpose of the circle of prayer St. Francis
Assisi is to find spiritual maturity through sharing
the word of God, prayer, and praise. We meet on
Saturday evenings at 6:30 pm in the lower Church.

IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY

This Spanish speaking group promotes devotion to
the Blessed Mother. Meetings are on the 1st
Sunday of the month after 9:00 am Mass in the
Lower Church.

EL NUEVO DIA

This is a group of trained facilitators who offer
support to those dealing with the loss of a loved
one and are trying to move forward in their grief.
Training is part of this program. Currently this is a
Spanish speaking group.
